COMMUTE is an immersive, first-person soundscape narrative that is the journey of my commute to school when I first moved to Melbourne. By layering field recordings of the urban environment, trams, chatter, and samples of Singaporean MRT announcements, the piece explores homesickness and navigating a sense of belonging in a foreign landscape. Listening experience is intended for headphones. This piece was done as part of my coursework for the Bachelor of Music (Interactive Composition) at the University of Melbourne.
